Plan your trip
Enter a starting point, any stops along the way, and your destination. Pick the kind of driving you are doing, because a loaded truck and a family car need different warnings.
Fuel planning
Prices are AAA state averages, so you can see which states on your route are cheapest to fuel up in. They are averages for the whole state, not prices at a specific station.
Example readout: Littleton, Colorado to Phoenix, Arizona
Route readout
Tap any marker on the map for the weather at that point, or the fuel plan at that stop. Fuel stops are recommended areas near the towns named, not specific stations, because prices here are state averages.
Mile by mile timeline
Each point shows the weather expected when the driver reaches it, in that place's local time, with any active National Weather Service alerts attached.
Example generated October 14, 2026. Fuel prices in it are AAA state averages as of 10/14/26.

Sponsor Next Mile Weather
Next Mile Weather members are working drivers and road trippers who plan real trips across the United States: professional truckers running freight and families on long drives. They check the weather along their route, watch for warnings, and decide where to stop and where to fuel up. A sponsorship puts your business in front of them while those decisions get made.
Good fits include truck stops and travel plazas, tire and truck service shops, hotels and motels along the interstates, fuel and convenience chains, trucking insurance, driver gear and supplies, and roadside assistance services.
Sponsor placements include a spot alongside the fuel planning on this page and a site wide spot in the footer. Premium members browse without sponsor slots, so placements reach the visitors evaluating membership, including everyone reading the example readout above. We are signing founding sponsors now, and founding sponsors are recognized as the businesses that helped launch Next Mile Weather.
For sponsorship inquiries, write to contact@ncmediallc.com and tell us a little about your business and where your customers drive.
How it works
You tell us where you are starting, where you are stopping, and where you are headed, plus when you are leaving. We build the real driving routes, let you pick the one you want, and then check the forecast at points all along that route, timed to your arrival at each one. National Weather Service alerts are attached to the points they cover, high winds are judged more strictly for trucks than for cars, and fuel is priced with AAA state averages so the cheap and expensive states on your route stand out. If the route you picked runs into dangerous weather, we check the other routes for you and tell you honestly if one of them is safer, or if waiting is the better call.
Routing by OSRM and OpenStreetMap contributors. Weather by Open-Meteo. Alerts by the National Weather Service. Fuel prices are AAA state averages as of 10/14/26. Hours-of-Service flags are a planning aid based on the standard 8, 11, and 14 hour clocks. Always check your ELD and current FMCSA rules before you roll.
